Built for Pilots,
by Pilots
OpenPPG is on a mission to make powered flight accessible, sustainable, and open.
Our Story
OpenPPG started with a simple question: what if paramotors could be better?
Founded by pilots frustrated with noisy, high-maintenance gas motors, we set out to build an electric paramotor that did not compromise on power. The result is the SP140 — producing 165 lbs of thrust with near-silent operation and virtually zero maintenance.
From day one, we have been open-source. Every line of throttle firmware is on GitHub. We believe the best products are built in the open, with input from the community that uses them every day.
Based in Northeast Ohio, USA, we design, engineer, and assemble our paramotors locally. Every unit is built with care and tested before it ships.
What We Stand For
Open Source
Every line of throttle firmware is on GitHub. Customize power curves, add features, or contribute improvements. The config tool at config.openppg.com lets you adjust settings without coding.
Accessible
Paramotor flying should not require an engineering degree. We design for simplicity — tool-free assembly, intuitive controls, and a community ready to help you get in the air.
Sustainable
Zero emissions in the air. No two-stroke exhaust, no fuel spills, no oil. Just clean, quiet flight. We are committed to responsible manufacturing and sustainable practices.
