Clean, Silent Power

Near-silent operation means you can fly without disturbing neighbors, wildlife, or the peace of early morning launches. Zero exhaust, zero fuel smell, zero oil changes.

Engineered for Reliability

Engineered for Reliability

With just one moving part — a brushless motor — there is virtually nothing to break or maintain. No spark plugs, no carburetors, no pull-starts.

Tool-Free Assembly

Tool-Free Assembly

Aircraft-grade aluminum frame breaks down compact for car travel and assembles in under 5 minutes without tools. Dyneema netting and Grade 5 titanium cage.

Swap Electric or Gas

Swap Electric or Gas

The SP140 hybrid frame accepts both electric and gasoline powertrains. Start electric, add a gas motor later. Same frame, same harness, same bars.

Product Details

The OpenPPG SP140 V2.5 Electric is the latest electric paramotor from OpenPPG. With its clean and simple design, you’ll spend more time flying and less time adjusting or tinkering on the ground. Electric power offers exceptional reliability and smooth, simple operation.

We’ve worked hard to bring an affordable EPPG to market that outperforms standard gas motors in key areas such as thrust, weight, low vibration, quiet operation, and dependability. The SP140 is simply the best EPPG/PPG available for the vast majority of pilots.

Features

Easy, Clean Transport & Storage – No messy gasoline or oil means you can simply place the unit in the back seat of your car or store it indoors without worrying about gas or fumes.

Lightweight Ergonomic Geometry – Lighter than the average gas motor, with excellent weight distribution (high up and close to the pilot), the SP140 feels even lighter than it is. The 2.6 kWh battery pack reduces the weight by another 24 lbs, making it ideal for thermaling, training, or simpler flights around 30 minutes for those who prefer less weight.

No Maintenance = No Worries – Unlike internal combustion paramotors, which require regular maintenance and rebuilds, the SP140 electric paramotor does not. That’s why the SP140 comes with an industry-first 12-month/300-hour warranty, while many others paramotors for sale offer half that time or no warranty at all.

Reliable – With fewer moving parts, this EPPG is far more dependable and doesn’t require the constant adjustments that gasoline engines need.

Affordable – The most cost-effective paramotor available. The SP140 starts at an average of $500 less than the typical ICE motor and $4,000 less than the average EPPG. But the real savings come in operating costs—since the battery is included, you’re essentially prepaying for fuel. In the USA, for example, electricity costs around $0.60 per hour compared to $7.50 per hour for gas and oil.

Fast, Responsive Throttle – Electric motors provide highly responsive and precise throttle control with a linear throttle response—something not possible with two-stroke combustion engines.

Safe and Easy to Start – Just push a button, and you’re ready to fly—no pull-starting required, which is especially convenient when the unit is on your back. Additionally, the propeller doesn’t need to spin at idle when launching your wing, reducing the risk of entangling your paraglider lines.

Simple System Updates – Features like cruise control and an altimeter are built into the controller, but the ability to update via USB-C or with a phone app ensures you can easily upgrade to the latest software, keeping your motor future-proof.

Flexible – With the SP140 frame system, you don’t have to choose between gas or electric power permanently. You can start with one and easily switch to the other while keeping the same frame, harness, and gooseneck bars, making it a cost-effective solution for those who want both options.

Fly More, Spend Less – With an electric system, the more you fly, the lower your overall cost per flight becomes. In contrast, gas-powered systems become more expensive the more you fly due to continuous fuel and maintenance costs.

Fully Open Source – Want to modify the code or design custom parts? No problem. The SP140 system is fully open source, allowing you to customize both hardware and software. No other paramotor design offers this level of flexibility and freedom.
